“Safety is something that happens between your ears, not something you hold in your hands.” - Col. Jef Cooper, USMC
S. T. O. P. - School Threat Operational Procedures - is a groundbreaking, nonprofit program providing qualified, vetted school personnel with training in responding to violent situations on campus. The purpose is to prepare on-site personnel to stop school violence rapidly and render medical aid immediately until first responders arrive...because seconds save lives.
S. T. O. P. Mobile Training Teams will provide training across the United States year round to both public and private educational institutions, from kindergartens to universities to trade schools.
Funded by donations, classes are provided at no cost to the educational institution.
S. T. O. P. is a carefully-designed training program offering over 30-hours of hands-on training over a 3-day class that exceeds the requirements of the Texas Peace Officer Training Academy.
S. T. O. P. Level I: Designed to prepare the School official to isolate, distract, defend against and neutralize an active shooter. The course covers weapon and equipment selection, fundamentals of shooting, how to shoot and move, cover vs concealment, weapon retention techniques, unarmed defensive techniques, what to expect from SWAT / First Responding units and basic emergency trauma medicine. The course ends with a reality-based scenario practical exercise. (30 hours)
S. T. O. P. Level II: School officials are educated and trained in threshold evaluation, concepts and principles of movement, setting up for room entry and room entry techniques, approach and breaching the crisis site, advanced immediate casualty care techniques such as Self-Aid, Buddy-Aid and in responding to “force-on-force” mass casualty scenarios where the responder will not only have to neutralize the gunman but also treat the wounded. (30 hours)
In addition, we also offer the V / S. T. O. P. program, which couples U.S. Special Operations veterans and trained canines to schools as security at zero-cost to the school.
